The perfect location for exploring all of Kauai. A quiet resort right on the beach. Lovely grounds. Pool, child's pool and sand box, hot tub, spa on site, fitness center. The restaurant (Hukilau Lanai) isone of the best restaurants on the island. Island style decor, private lanai. Full kitchen, washer and dryers, dishwasher. This is a resort with staff and concierge. 3 story buildings with no elevators. There are handicapped units available. Master bedroom has a King bed, the other has 2 twin beds which can be pushed together to make a double bed and there is a full size hide-a-bed in the living room. The resort calls this a "Garden view" room but all units have partial ocean views.
The resort will require a credit card on check-in and will charge a daily resort fee (usually around $20 daily for the room).
There is a lovely walkway along the beach there. The beach is narrow, but sandy, with a rocky ledge for tidepools. We have snorkeled right off the beach, which is protected from the waves by an outer reef. You can walk to the Lava Lava Beach Club and sit with your feet in the sand for breakfast or other meals. The other hotels along the walkway also have bars and restaurants. The Coconut Marketplace is right next door for shopping.
