Summary: This was my second stay at the Ramada in East Orange. Although the staff were polite, I was extremely disappointed with the hotel’s condition and the inaccurate information advertised on its website. The website stated that breakfast was included and that a gym was available. During my previous stay, I was told that the gym was under repair; however, this year, I was informed that no gym was available. No breakfast was provided, and I was instead directed to a nearby location where I could purchase breakfast. The room was also poorly maintained. The air-conditioning unit could not be adjusted properly or turned off using its controls since it was a floor AC and the writings were erased and had to be unplugged. The coffee maker was filty and needs to be clean, faucets in both the bathroom sink and bathtub were broken, covered with grime, and in urgent need of repairs and thorough cleaning. Even more concerning, I found roaches inside the microwave. During my previous stay, I had to be moved to another room because mice were running around. Last year it was mice; this year it was roaches. The hotel urgently needs major repairs, professional cleaning, effective pest control, and accurate advertising of its services and facilities. Given the repeated sanitation and maintenance issues, I strongly believe that the relevant health and safety authorities should inspect this hotel. Based on my experiences, I am extremely dissatisfied and would not recommend staying here.
